FAQ

Booking a room or RV space.
Many motels and RV parks start to book a year in advance, so early is better. Check out our list of places to stay under “Lodging” on this site.

Programs.
Programs giving exact times and locations of the sessions are available beginning at noon on Thursday at the Gathering Headquarters in University Center.

Supporting the Gathering.
The Texas Cowboy Poetry Gathering is a 501-C3, non-profit organization. Tax deductible contributions can be made by sending a check directly to PO Box 395, Alpine, TX 79831, or by becoming a performer sponsor. For more information on this, contact Don Cadden at 432-364-2520.
Event pins and tickets for raffle ticket items are also a great way to support the Gathering, and are available at event headquarters.

Performing at the Gathering.
Send a bio and CD, or copy of your work to the committee at the address above. There are also open sessions both Friday and Saturday mornings, where you can sign up and perform. Our event is very traditional, and we look most for performers who have ties to the western way of life, and reflect that in their work.

Poetry Gathering and Trappings of Texas
This year the Trappings Of Texas, an event held by the Museum of the Big Bend, will not be on the same weekend as the Gathering. It will be April 17th & 18th, 2015.

Purchasing CDs and books of the performers.
There is a sales room on the second floor of the University Center, where these items are available.
