Randy Rieman

Choteau, Montana

Randy Rieman makes his home in the Beaverhead Valley of southwest Montana, where he runs a small horse operation and a destination horsemanship school . Randy spent the early years of his career on various cow calf ranches, grazing associations and stocker operations in Montana, Nevada and California. He later focused on starting colts for private ranches and the public in Hawaii, New Mexico and Montana. For the last 10 years he has traveled extensively teaching horsemanship, ranch roping and stockmanship clinics both in the U.S. and Europe .

For the last 30 years Randy has been involved with the public presentation of cowboy poetry at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada. He has been featured as a reciter of traditional western poetry as well as Australian bush poetry at numerous gatherings and festivals around the western United States . In 1995, Randy was chosen as part of a team of western poets and reciters to do a 15 city tour of cowboy poetry in England and Wales. The tour was part of the “Year Of Literature” celebration in the U.K.
